Envious of those of you who have husbands so in tune! I'm the OP and safe to say, my DH never catches on, ever. I think for everyone's sake, I'll set some sort of reminder. I actually found this:

Yes, I tell him and it's also a reminder to myself. If I know to expect it and why I'm feeling that way, I'm better about to control it. It's basically a heads up about some potentially bad days ahead.

so you're equating "severe PMS" with testosterone that leads to "male behavior."? The internet.

I do sometimes because I don't want to be dragged hiking in the woods for hours with cramps and bad mood. And it's an excuse that it will take me a while to get ready to leave the house and the reason why i'm not going to clean, dishes or laundry for the next 3 days.

Hah! My dh doesn't need a reminder. He knows my dates before than I do, which I discovered when I was in the er and the nurse asked the date of my last period. I couldn't remember and he automatically said the date

Same here. And he is so happy when my period comes because it's really a night and day difference with me. I'm close to euphoric on day 1. It's really kind of funny.

Absolutely tell him. No way would I suck it up just so he doesn't have to walk on eggshells. Usually he notices without me saying anything and gives me some extra space or a footrub while we watch TV.

No I do not. I recognize that I am more depressed, anxious and sensitive when I am PMSing and I hide it. I don't want/expect DH to walk on eggshells around me. So if I find that I'm overreacting to something because of hormones, I just remind myself that it is hormones and I need to relax. It served us well through lots of hormones post partum and weaning. Now that I'm on the correct birth control, my PMS is much better.

I always had some swings right before my period but after dc, I am now a incredibly moody, super sensitive, at times depressed and quick to fly off the handle at the smallest things. I'm pursuing supplements, meditation and acupuncture in hopes of getting things under control and it's working so far. However, it's not gone completely and I feel like I need to tell my DH to tread lightly during those days in the month. Does anyone remind their spouses of this on a monthly basis? Dare I ask, is there an app that you have used? Does the reminder even help?
