Neither of my kittens showed any sign of slowing down and just resumed their lives business as usual. Try not to let it worry you too much. Your kitty will recover quickly!

Yes, this is the only thing our vet warned us about. And it was useless. He and the other kitten (who was spayed earlier) rampaged through the house. Even when we locked them in a small room at night to limit the jumping, they rolled around and played rough. He healed fine anyway. The biggest annoyance was the Elizabethan collar he had to wear to keep from licking. He discovered how to get out of it so we were constantly putting it back on. Also, we had to remove it so he could eat and drink because he couldn't reach the bowl otherwise. But he did fine.

The big thing is the cat litter.

I believe when I had my cat spayed, I had meds to give her for a few days (antibiotic and pain meds). The vet gave me a compounded liquid form, so I just squirted it in her mouth with a dropper. It was way easier to deal with than trying to give her a pill.

It's actually no big deal. You will need special litter that doesn't produce a lot of dust. The vet might give you that. Just watch for signs of infection. The kitten will have a shaved belly which will look funny. But, within a day or two, she will be back to playing as normal.

I'm taking my 5.5mo kitten to get spayed tomorrow. What should I expect after the surgery? I know the vet will talk us through it and I've done research but I'm looking for more anecdotal stuff. I'm a total wimp when she's in pain (I cried after her last round of shots!) so I'm hoping the pain pills work.

All this stress over a cat... I'm in trouble when I have a baby hey?
