Yep alcohol boils at 173. So not much alcohol left.

I always put in extra vanilla when I make cookies. I love that stuff.

We had a friend who can't eat cinnamon. So I subbed allspice (a lot of allspice) and cinnamon in the apple pie. It was okay, not bad, but the regular kind is better.

my kids won't eat pie, so you may be saved that way too.

about 70% of alcohol burns off during cooking. So I am guessing you ended up with what would be 2 tbsp of raw vanilla in your pie. At 40%, that's about 1/3 of a shot of vodka in the whole pie. So yes, unless your kids eat all of the pie at once you are fine.

So upset with myself. I forgot to add the vanilla (pure vanilla - 41% alcohol), was rushing and thought there was a small pour hole in the bottle and wound up dumping a lot more than the recipe's 2 tablespoons. I have cooked it and tasted it and, as you can guess, there is a strong vanilla flavor, but still edible.

I baked at at 400 for 10 minutes, then at 350 for 40 minutes. Has all the alcohol burned off? Is it ok for my kids to eat (1 yo and 3 yo)? Everything I have found on the internet indicates that it is fine (from an alcohol content perspective). Just looking for another opinion from experienced bakers.

This was a family project - first apple pie ever made with my three year old and the apples that we picked yesterday. So upset with myself for rushing.

Please tell me the alcohol has burned off and the flavor is all that remains. TIA
