great. now the parents prepping the kids will prep them not to raise their hands when this question is asked.
Some of you don't get it -- this is life or death stuff for certain people.

I think one session in school of having the directions explained in the context of a few sample questions is very different from practicing the questions to the point where the child thinks she has actually seen the exact questions before as has happened with some kids.

If I were a researcher in this field, I think it would be interesting to do a study comparing test scores and GBRS scores of kids who had prepped for the test and then see a similar comparison of the scores of kids who take the test without test prep. A study like that would be useful to the school district in deciding whether these scores are reliable in identifying which kids need which programs.

I would guess that the AART gets the info, and takes it into account when preparing the file.

Is that a problem? Does that mean the kids doesn't get into AAP? Are there points taken away? Do they get expelled? Don't get why it's "Bad News."

Nothing new. I heard a smilar story last year about the CogAt taken in 2011 from a father. The father said after the test, the kid's teacher asked the students if they've seen the questions before. His daughter and some kids raised their hands. The teacher asked where and wrote down the names of the prep school(s). It seemed nothing happened later. The kid got into the AAP.

So what!!!!

Just picked my ds up for a dental appointment. They started the cogat testing this morning. He said the teacher asked if any of the kids had seen questions like this "before, but not at school". He said some kids raised their hands, and the assistant principal was in the room and then left.
