Bethesda bagels has great bagels - they have a location in north Dupont and they deliver. I would def check them out over panera or bagels etc.

Recently had a baby shower brunch for 30 people & served: 2 vegetarian & 2 meat quiches, hash brown casserole in crock pot, bagels sliced & halved w/cc, fruit salad, pastries, mimosas, coffee & tea. We also had pasta salad & chicken salad on rolls.

Well, I purposely wrote "savory bread pudding" as an alternative name for it to clarify. If you've never had a good bread pudding, I think you're either been eating at the wrong places or don't have very good taste.

Quiche is really easy and can be made the day before so you don't have any stress the morning of. Easy to make vegetarian and not vegetarian versions.

I went to a brunch recently and she didn't cook anything BUT the bacon and the granola and it was great.

-Do a bagel bar. half and split the bagels. Put them a on a pretty tray. include labeled cream cheeses, one sweet (maybe pumpkin), one plain and one salty. Add Lox.
-Buy the wellshire farms precooked bacon at whole foods (people can eat this on the side or put it on the bagel with cream cheese).It is delicious and all you have to do it microwave it for 30 seconds. People will inhale it. Buy lots.
-Buy mini pumpkin and/or cinnamon muffins at whole foods "wholly natural" brand they are delicious and seasonal. or buy big muffins and half them.
-Put out a bowl of local apples and label them as such.
-Put out another bowl of pre made bought fruit salad or do a bowl of mixed berries. And if you want, add a bowl of vanilla greek yogurt and a bowl of granola (and for kids mini chocolate chips or something fun). Include spoons and clear plastic cups so they can make parfaits.
-Coffee (ideally have a pretty container set out that will keep it warm so you don't have to keep making it.) with cream, half & half or milk on ice - include a little container of pumpkin pie spice for the coffee. You could also include a bowl of packets raw sugar, stevia, and maybe equal? or just have a sugar bowl with a spoon.
For the kids you could put out chocolate milk (warm or cold). If you do warm you could include a little bowl of marshmallows.
Juice. You could do a spiced cider too as it will make the house smell great.

Honeybaked hams are delicious and literally just require unwrapping and placing on a platter.

For 18 people and not being a good cook I would say do a "bagels & lox" spread.

So get bagels & biyalis, cream cheese, butter, lox, fruit salad, onions, etc.

I think adding yogurt, honey and granola would be a nice addition.

Make the centerpiece a "breakfast casserole" or "savory bread pudding." People will be very impressed but they're nearly foolproof.

Then add:
Bagels, cream cheese, lox
Fruit salad
Muffins
Yogurt, granola
Make your own mimosa

You'll have to cook one total thing and people will enjoy.

I'm a terrible and lazy cook. I am going to be hosting 18 people for an open house 'brunch' next weekend. Little bit of a Halloween theme. What should I make? Or what can i order still have it feel special? Live in DuPont circle.
