Just ate at 14th and K (I think it's called 14k, it's in the Crown Plaza hotel)and it was surprisingly good and nice atmosphere.

All good previous suggestions. Mayflower is the power breakfast place in dc. Lpq is a good more informal breakfast meeting place. The sofitel also has a good room.

Is 24th and M too far away? I love, love, love breakfast at Blue Duck Tavern. If it is too far check out the Hay Adams. I would assume they would have breakfast.
