+1. When I studied in France we had a french pronunciation coach (advanced pronunciation, for getting from fluent to native-like speech) who wore the same black outfit every single day.

I'd think they're from NYC. I had lots of all black outfits when I first moved here.

No. I wear a lot of black clothes (not near 100%). If I have a choice between black and another color in the store, usually I feel that black looks much nicer on me for whatever reason. I'm not doing it on purpose. I have to make a concerted effort to buy more colorful clothes because that is not what I usually gravitate to.

Well it depends on the style of clothing. Tailored looks, suits, dresses, blouses, dark jeans and nice tops (you get my point), I think NYC type of person. Frumpy and too big clothes with no style, I think depressed or trying to hide their body/putting no effort in. Black with chains/lace/etc then I think goth.

Someone who just wants to keep it easy, have all mixing-and-matching components of their wardrobe.
