Why? Is she LD? Truly gifted? Or is this a parental wish? It seems the majority of parents in this county think their kids needs something more specialized than mainstream, but the question is whether there is truly a need.
So true. And only a tiny fraction of these kids actually "need" a specialized learning environment. I think too many parents look at AAP as some kind of badge of honor, giving them bragging rights. If your child doesn't get in, just appeal! No worries.
