One month. It was really easy to schedule. I wanted one month out based on where I was in my cycle.

Good luck! Hopefully you've found your answer!

How long did the whole process take - from scheduling your initial consult to day if surgery?

OP here - just got back from my follow-up with the surgeon. He reviewed all the pics he took and it turns out that one of my tubes was twisted/flipped and the ovary was attached in a wrong place. He untwisted the tube and put everything back in place. There is also significant scar tissue on my bladder. Basically this was all due to a careless c-section.

I'm hoping that the tube was the problem and next month is our month.

OP - try an endometrial biopsy/endometrial scratching or a D&C. Your OBGYN should be able to do that for you. Sometimes removing the old lining and allowing things to regenerate does the trick.

Dr Elkas with Mid-Atlantic Pelvic Asociates (that may not be the right name of the practice, but it's similar).

It's an out patient procedure. The procedure lasted about 30-45 mins. I had a hysteroscopy performed as well. So there were 3 small incisions. One at the navel and one on each side. The steri-strips are just coming off (10 days later). The healing process was pretty quick. I laid on the couch for 3 days and slept for almost the whole time. That part was nice.
I'm restricted from lifting anything over 20 lbs for 4-6 weeks. Also no intercourse for 6 weeks. Not sure why, but I think to avoid a pregnancy before my uterus is healed.

I have to say, I was a little bummed there was nothing wrong. I was hoping we woul finally have some answers. But we are just as lost as were before it. And now I have to wait another two cycles before starting again.

We're unexplained, as well. I'm looking into having a Lap if our first IVF fails, as I want to see if we are truly unexplained.

Who performed your surgery? Can you give me a brief explanation of the process? TIA.

After having my laparoscopy to check for endo I have come back with a clean bill of health. There was no endo but there was scar tissue from my previous c-section. The scar tissue was removed.
My diagnosis of "unexplained infertility l" had truly been defined now. There is no known medical reason for not achieving pregnancy. So we continue on the IUI journey (3 more cycles) before moving on to IVF.
*totally bummed*
