Except they didn't ban them out of some philosophical belief that children should be pressured to become football players. They banned them because they are afraid a kid will get with one and get hurt.

I don't know any elementary schools in the area with baseballs at recess, just basketballs and rubber kickballs. Jesus, let the kids have some fun.

I applaud this school district for taking this step. Recess has become a nightmare at some schools. I do not send my child to school to become a football player. He is sent there to learn. Footballs, baseballs, and other hard objects have no place on the playground.
