Jump-off question from my post about Rosemary Hills/North Chevy Chase ES --

All things being equal (such as proximity to your house), would you rather send your kids to the new middle school or not. Off the top of my head, pros might include: shiny, new facility; possibly a good batch of teachers pulled from other schools (not sure how they're assigned when a new school opens); chance for a principal to shape the school's policies, etc. from the ground up rather than patching/updating predecessor's policies. Cons might include: hiccups in procedures as the kinks get worked out and everyone learns the new school.

Anyone been part of a new school in the first few years and have any thoughts? Any teachers here who moved to a new school when it opened?
