Looks like it is still more diverse than most of the elementary schools that feed into it. 73% white is still majority, but there appears to be some diversity. It is likely more homogeneous in terms of economics.

I wouldn't worry so much about the middle school - Williamsburg is supposed to be great too. Some of the split feeders in Arlington can get confusing!

Here's the web page devoted to APS' "More Seats for More Students"

http://www.apsva.us/moreseats

Also, the School Board will receive an update at the Oct. 10 meeting on the More Seats initiative, so they may talk about HS. I believe they are setting up a framework for addressing HS overcrowding, but I can't remember when they would be proposing changes

This article might address what you were talking about regarding the high schools. Looks like they've decided not to build another school.

It's kind of odd. APS rebuilds schools without seeming to add much, if any, additional capacity and then treats the inevitable overcrowding as validation that APS is attracting families and students in "droves." Just seems like bad planning.

Here are the boundary changes. Planning units near Westover are moving from Tuckahoe to Nottingham. This map shows the new elementary school boundaries that take effect September, 2015:

It looks like the part of Tuckahoe south of Lee Highway goes to Swanson. All of Tuckahoe goes to Yorktown. Is that area called Leeway?

What neighborhood feeds into Tuckahoe, Swanson then Yorktown?
