Know someone from a foreign country who was subjected to racist rants about her country's ability to create better products than those produced here in the US. I think she took a job with their competitor.

I interviewed for an intelligence position right out of grad school. Interviewer wore a mickey mouse tie and asked me what I thought they were looking for. I said that I assumed they were looking for analysts (I don't know anything about intelligence), and he answered "no, we're pretty much looking for spies." To this day, I'm not convinced that he really worked for the government and wasn't just a random dude that showed up on campus.

These are pretty funny, especially the inside out clothes and the potato chip interviewees.

I've never had a crazy interview, just depressing ones. Next time I'll try wearing my clothes inside out, just for fun. And I'll bring snacks.

wow. these take the cake. My story isn't even that interesting. I got asked those stupid brain teaser questions (not even by a hiring manager, by a potential peer). Google did a big reveal that these type of questions (in the silicon valley world and beyond? Finance?) are BS and don't predict what kind of worker you will be. I humored them anyway but it chafed.

I was in the middle of interviewing a candidate when he opened his briefcase and produced a bag of potato chips and began to eat while talking to me. I ended the interview shortly thereafter and he asked me when his real interview would be scheduled. I couldn't possibly be the hiring manager! I was.

Just last week I showed up for a panel interview, but was instead escorted to a private office to take a math test on a computer.

I once interviewed a woman who had both her skirt and her sweater on backwards!

A lovely wool skirt clearly meant to zip in the back but zipped in front, and a coordinating lightweight dressy sweater with the sewn-in label visible in front at the neck. Bizarre.

Went to an on the job first day see if I like you and if I do you can come back tomorrow "interview." Only the owner knew it was that kind of interview. Needless to say most "candidates" chose to never came back, or quit. He was a horrible person and the smart ones never came back instead of trying it out for a couple of days.

BTW PP, there's an agency that uses a personality test. How is that even legal?

I once interviewed an attorney for my group (whose main task is to produce a voluminous annual report) who, when asked about his writing skills, stated "I don't enjoy writing much."

I once interviewed with a lady who fell asleep during the interview. It was incredibly strange.

Do you all want to share if you had any crazy interviews. I've had a couple in my career. The other day was one of them.

Get this - so there is this entrepreneur looking for a web person. He has multiple inventions and a gazillion of start-ups. To name a few - consulting, special effects production, a fitness workout studio, trademark registration, real estate, helicopter rides, computer repair, etc.

So he's working on all those start-ups simultaneously, doesn't have any marketing strategy whatsoever, and while I was interviewing with him he came up with 5 new ideas for new business.

Oh, and he's located in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of corn fields, a 100 miles from any big city.

What killed me at the interview when he was proposing to put up a dating site for people who believe in aliens and UFOs where they could chat in a chat room and virtually dress as aliens. C-R-A-Z-Y
