How do the sizes for Crazy 8, Circo, Jumping Beans, etc. run?

Lands End. More expensive than Old Navy, but better made. Not sure it would fit your definition of stylish (although I think style is in how you wear something, not the brand itself).

What I do like from Old Navy (for an 8 yr old though):
athletic wear (running shorts, tanks, fleece yoga pants)
jeans (DD likes that they are thinner than Lands End jeans)
trendy tops that make DD happy but I don't want to spend much money on

You might also try the department stores: JCP, Macys, etc.

Circo has held up really well for me. The staples are 5 bucks and go down to 3.75, then 2.50 and sometimes 1.85!

Hm. I hear ya on the online ordering. I gotta say, I go by brand and scour ebay. Or else I buy clothes a bit out of season when they go on sale at places like www.hartstrings.com or tea collection, winter water factory, and the like.

I spend money on the cold-weather clothes. Summer: Meh.

True. Do you have recommended brands with better humanitarian practices?

Lands End or Jumping Beans hold up well.

There's a lot of dreck at Children's place, but there's good basics and the clothes do tend to hold up well.

Just wait til your preschooler is ready for Justice (gag). Let's talk then.

I also like Crazy 8, Circo and Kohl's, have a Kohl's very close so I wind up buying lots of children's items there and they usually hold up very well.

Crazy 8. The clothes are a little more funky that their parent company (Gymboree).

I love Kohl's for preschool/toddler size clothes. Their Jumping Beans line is cute, color coordinated and has held up well. Most of the clothes have been passed down to DD #2.

Also, Target's circo line is good.

I do boden when they have sales. I like children's place - find their stuff holds up.

Also get on Zulilly - I got a ton of Jojobebemaman stuff really cheap from them. It's awesome.

What about Gap?

Just got a delivery of Old Navy girl's clothes for my preschooler. I'm extremely shocked at how THIN the material is in the leggings, shirts, and dresses. They've been going downhill in terms of quality, but this seems like an extreme plunge downward.

I like Tea Collection but lately the fit is a bit too narrow for my average-sized DD. MiniBoden is more than I want to spend. DD refuses to wear HannaAndersson. I don't like the stuff at Gymboree or Children's Place. What are my options for reasonably-priced, stylish, kid's clothes that I can order on-line??
