They tend to be seasonal in the local stores though. They may be hard to find in winter.

strosniders has them for sure. They even do canning classes sometimes.
I have even bought them in supermarkets (but not in DC).
Or you can buy the Ball jars on Amazon.

Target, Home Depot, the Ace Hardware in Takoma usually has them...

Most of the craft stores, Walmart, and target. Just ask otherwise you will be walking around looking for them. Target had three sizes and it a small display, so hard to find.
