So, if it were me, OP, i'd read the prices on this board, which all seem really close, and be mindful that driving to a different store than you normally shop at, just to buy milk, would not be worth the gas and the time. Now, if you are looking to change your overall shopping store, then you have some good ideas on here. We think the Giant (Nature's Promise) and the Whole Foods 365 brand are pretty close and which ever store we are at when we need milk, we buy it. Otherwise, it becomes too much effort with 2 FT jobs, 2 preschoolers, etc. And, if you are giong to visit your parents, have them pick you up an extra gallon and you could bring it back home with you (maybe in a cooler depending on how the definition of boonies).

Though I'm a big Costco fan, I don't think their deal on milk is worth it to go just for that.

Harris Teeter isn't bad - generally $5.49, but often on sale.

And considered fairly ok by folks who look at organic from a humane, holistic standpoint (something the organic label does'nt automatically guarantee).

Wegmans is pretty cheap.

When I was a Costco member, it was $10 for 3 half gallons. I just got it at Wegmans yesterday for $5.69/gal. Harris teeter store brand is 5.99 I think?

Where have you found the cheapest organic milk in the dc metro? I'd like to start drinking organic milk but everywhere I go I'm sort of horrified by the prices. My parents get it for much cheaper in their local grocery store out in the boonies.
