Whenever you hear about a man leaving his wife for a younger woman, the age difference always seems to be about 16 years -- I do not know why this is.
So under my theory, a man cannot start to date his "perfect" match until he is at least 35; and can no longer date a woman in her early 30s or younger once he is older than 48 years.
Man older than 48 years means greater chances of birth defects. Was your father older than 48 when you were conceived?
No, my father was simply a pack-a-day smoker when I was conceived.![]()
If your friends divorce, look for that 16-year magic number in the men's second marriages. Also, no, 35-year old men should not date 19-year old women, they should date and enjoy the women their own age.
I am simply stating that since many divorce and remarriages end up with this 16-year age difference, then perhaps these men should save their peers the trouble and wait until they are 43, and the younger women they eventually plan to marry in any case are 27, to finally marry.

OP does not make the claim that the 16-year age difference is good or bad, or will result in fewer or more eventual divorces. As I read it, OP is simply making the claim that in their experience, men who divorce and then remarry a younger woman, will typically remarry a woman who is somewhere around 16 years younger than them.

Anonymous wrote:Yes, OP, men are gross: they look to remarry someone who can be their daughter. Sure.
