One of my favorite R.E.M. songs, but yes, so sad

A song in a similar vein is "Come Undone" by Duran Duran

Better Than Ezra has some real tearjerkers, as well, but I adore Kevin Griffin. He is a song writing god.

Last Goodbye by Jeff Buckley. Perfectly captures a relationship dying.

Don't Give Up by Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush. Best song about economic downsizing. Actually Peter Gabriel has a couple of songs I get choked up listening to.

Common People by Pulp. Great song about class and being poor.
