German gourmet didn't have it but cafe Berlin put it on its octoberfest menu and say they will add it to the regular menu soon. At least we can get some there but bummer I can't get any to buy and take home to have on hand. That was so easy to feed my kiddo in a pinch and was rather healthy compared to Mac n cheese and all the other toddler regulars. I guess I'll have to learn to make it?

Try the German Deli at Cafe Mozart in DC. Also, contact Cafe berlin in DC as well. Also, Heidelberg's bakery and the Swiss bakery, both in VA, might have leads.

Now you have me craving some too. Along with some real schwartzwalder schinken and spaetzle. Maybe the German Gourmet in Bailey's Crossroads?

I made some zweibelkuchen last night to get a little Swabia fix.

Try calling Old Europe in DC and asking.

Also, a good substitute might be Afghan Aushak or Mantu:
