+1. Amherst is also part of a 5-college consortium with U Mass, Smith, Holyoak and Hampshire. There's lots going on in the area.

Anonymous wrote:I do not agree one bit. Its a highly respectable school, small and somewhat isolated so the student has to want that kind of environment. We visited 6 LAC's in 3 days, Bowdoin, Amherst, Williams, Connecticut College, Bates and Trinity.
Bowdoin and Williams and Bates were a little too remote for my daughter but we were both impressed with the school.
