You might want to order a couple of hookers.

I'm pretty sure jello shooters was a joke, BTW. But you know your crowd.

Guacamole is essential. 7-layer dip or crock-queso are also good, but nothing beats good guac.

+1 on the margaritas.

Good coffee for later in the evening, esp. for designated drivers.

I think you need an app maybe like a seven layer dip or a mexican corn dip.

Flowers and balloons! Enough balloons so each kid can take one?

OP here. Thx. I forgot that I had the idea of making queso dip in the crock pot also. I serve it with the jumbo size Fritos.

And yes, I have kid drinks.

The specialty grown up drinks is not a bad idea. I might do a pitcher or two of sangria and I'll have to see if my husband has any interest in jello shooters...! Also he likes those Mike's hard lemonades - I will get some of those.

Love that everyone went straight to discussing the beverages... Any further thoughts about food from anyone?!?

Oh yeah. I'm not a drinker at all and even I would have some kind of celebratory grown up drinks (unless said party boy is a recovering alcoholic!) . Love the Jello shooters idea.

Drinks for the little kids (if there are little kids)? Juice or milk over soda. Possibly some bottled water.

Otherwise I think you are fine.

We have about 25-30 adults & 10 kids (under the age of 10) coming over on Saturday night for my husband's 40th birthday party.

I ordered the taco bar from Moe's Southwest Grill - so we will have chicken & beef tacos w/all the fixings. They bring chips, salsa, etc.

In addition to that, I plan to have fruit salad and veggie trays.

For desserts, I am making a chocolate bundt cake, chocolate chip/peanut butter cup cookies, and thinking about purchasing a few other things (maybe a pie? other cookies?). My husband doesn't really want a bday cake, and I'm fine with that too. (His birthday was actually last month, but it was in the middle of our vacation.)

We'll have sodas, beer & wine.

I feel like something's missing. What else should I think about serving? I don't have tons of time (the party is THIS Saturday), so whatever I do needs to be relatively quick/easy.

TIA!
