I like cooking in the winter too. Pot roast, stews, chowder, stuffed cabbage. . .

The kids like that I bake a lot in the winter, too.

I'm eating a bowl of homemade split pea soup right now. It is so comforting. I love each new season of cooking. I'm tired of summer foods now, but come March, I'll be eagerly looking forward to it again!

Me too! Care to share a favorite recipe? Here's one of mine - love how it makes the house smell...

Yes! Time to seriously cook! Salads are great and ready for the real cooking season.

Carmelized onions in the crock pot for homemade soup! Broth, meatballs, tortellini and corn soup! Chili! Bolganaise (sp?) with pasta

I love this time of year!

Winter is when I spend a ton of time in the kitchen. I'm so excited to try some new soup recipes and break out some of the old. I love winter squash and finding creative ways to eat root vegetables.

That is all, just excited to prepare some comfort foods and use the long nights to focus on cooking creatively. However I will miss the freshness of summer vegetables.
