The pricing at Carpet One's remnant room ranges from $1.99 to 6.99 a square foot, and then $1-2 a foot for binding.

Home Goods. They actually have some really nice wool rugs for $200-$300.

As far as binding - I had this done a few years ago and you can easily pay $1.50 - $2.00 per linear foot for a simple binding. It adds up when you are binding a larger rug.

OP here, thanks all, that's a great selection of choices to check out, I'll give them all a look. A remnant that's bound would be a great choice, too, I'm interested in the cost to bind them (if anyone knows).

Thanks.

Most of their remnants are wool, some sea grass, the selection changes.

I know it depends - but do you have a sense of price for a remnant from Carpet One?

Crate and Barrel has 20% off all rugs right now.
I've also had good luck with overstock.com.

I know you were looking for something locally, but Overstock and Rugs USA have the best prices and a huge selection of rugs. Dash and Albert is nice if that's your style.

Costco for serviceable rugs.

I didn't see them locally, but I did find great rugs (8x10 and 9x12 I think) at Home Depot's website and Overstock.com. They looked just like the pictures on the site, and were of good quality, for around $300 each.

I'm not looking for high end, just serviceable decent quality area rug(s) for a new music room, to cover part of a Pergo floor.

Perhaps something like 8' x 10', or 6' x 8' and maybe a runner or two.

Home Depot is one obvious choice but I wonder/ have to think there are others that may be better, where I can see them locally.

Thanks for any info you can pass on.
