Thanks! I agree that I won't get the time back. Feel like its better to go for it now. Also there's just no way to work like crazy, toddler, husband, school.

Quit. You can make it work. You don't want to look back 5 years from now and never have tried - you will not get the time back. Since you can live on one salary (while not your preferance LT), it does mean if worst case you wait and it takes longer than you plan to find a job list grad school.... You can still manage on the one income. I think it would be a different story if you could not live on the one income.

No child care needed. We have grandparents in the area, if they are needed for certain days/studying etc.

I contemplated pt.... But doubt with the demands of the job, that's possible. Plus then we would need child care.

At my current org, I've worked extremely hard but they clearly pay more to those with advanced degrees. I am trying to leave on really good terms so that I can reapply when I'm ready to work again.

Sounds like you have a good plan for reentry after grad school. Go for it.

I would stay. The job market is wretched.

This depends on so many variables, like what kind of job you have now and what kind of a masters you're going to get. Also will you need to get child care while you are getting your masters? I managed not to while I was in law school. Also have you completely considered how much you can tighten your belt while in school? We have found that 75k is more than enough if you play it smart.

Can you go PT at work? The market has been pretty tough and it might be difficult to get the next job after you graduate.

I really want to quit my job. I have a 2 year old and an extremely stressful job that only pays $63k. My dh brings home about $75k. I would like to finish grad school, and expect that I can ask for approx $25k more after I finish my masters. If I quit then I can get it done in 1 year. I also want to have another baby, and want to get grad school out the way first.

I've done the math and we could meet our current living expenses with only about $300 surplus. It just seems worth it to live extremely frugal for a year to finish school. Not to mention time with my daughter at this important age, and giving up the battle of an insane job. Should I do it? I'm not super worried about getting back into the job market. I've had really god experience on my resume. Oh, I'm 31.
