Oh, we use Navy Federal Visa for everything else - 1% back on everything. I think I might look into that Fidelity Amex or Visa, though. 1.5% - 2% is even better!

We have a PenFed Visa that gives us 5% back on gasoline. That's all we use it for. However, we just got word that we need to keep some kind of balance in their credit union or do direct deposit there to keep it. It has been great though since my husband drives 60 miles each day for work. We save a lot using it!

Costco is 3% on gas (up to a limit of something like $1500 per year), 2% on travel and restaurants, and 1% on everything else, including shopping at Costco. However re the gas, they did just institute a policy recently that it has to be a freestanding gas station or Costco for gas or else you don't get the 3%. So you can't get your gas at Safeway and get 3% on that. I almost always fill up at Costco and my DH uses a gas station on the way to his office so this hasn't been an issue for us but I thought I would flag it.

We use the Costco card for gas and Costco, and the Amazon Visa for everything else. The percentages are just average -- I think groceries are 1% and gas is 2% -- but we do a lot of shopping on Amazon so we build up our rewards during the year and use them for purchasing Christmas gifts.

Another vote for the fidelity AmEx. 2% cashback into your 529 or retirement account. It's free college savings, and it rocks.

Another for the fidelity Amex (2% on everything, no limit, no fee). They also have a fidelity visa, which is the same deal, just 1.5%.

If you have a business or an FEIN, chase has a business card that gives 3% back on gas, dining, and home improvement stores, no fee, no limits.

The best for cash back on gas and groceries is American Express Blue Cash - 6% on groceries and 3% on gas. The big drawback is that the cash back comes in the form of a credit on your statement. I will just take that amount in cash from my checking and direct it to whichever savings account I want it in.

I use the Amex Costco Cash Card, and we have a Capital One card for when that isn't accepted.

Chase and CapitalOne have some that rise and fall to 3% maybe even 5% with caps on certain categories. But tons of hoops, like registering quarterly for that 'promotion.'

Cash is deposited to a Fidelity brokerage account, so that is other drawback ( but it is deposited automatically and doesn't require a check or statement credit and easy to link ACH).

My husband and I currently use a Bank of America credit card, which gives us 1% back on everything and some bonuses, but those are capped so we don't make as much as I would like.

I'm looking for a card that gives the most back, especially on gas and groceries, since that's the bulk of what we buy. We don't really go out to eat or go shopping very much, so I don't care for cards that give a lot back on dining and entertainment.

We always pay our balance in full so APR is a non-issue.

Please let me know what card works best for you.
