This happens to me sometimes. I run the tp under the faucet before wiping, to get the area really clean, and it's usually better by the next day. You can also put a tiny bit of Cortaid on your bum.

I have this issue in conjunction with hemorrhoids. Try some diaper cream for a few days--spring for an expensive kind. It can be kind of like a diaper rash, and the barrier of the cream helps it heal.

I have this problem and was diagnosed with a condition called lichen sclerosus. I use a steroid to control it. A biopsy was necessary for diagnosis.

Could be anything. My family has had pinworms, and I remember post-pregnancy 'roids.

Since this is anonymous, I... ah... will share that a few years ago, I had a crazy itch situation that didn't respond to any of the things I tried. Finally, I happened to hear a news program or something in which a doctor suggested that a lot of wet wipes contain chemicals that are actually very hard on bottoms, even adult bottoms. I'm not usually a sensitive skin kind of gal, but, in desperation, I thought I might as well discontinue the wet wipe use. And... the healing began within a couple of days! No problems since.

Although a possibility, it is not likely. Little kids tend to get them because they indiscriminately put things in their mouths.

I know what pinworms are (have read about them) and I think it would be likely that my son would be complaining of an itchy butt too. We don't sleep in the same bed, ever, so I'm not sure how they would pass from them to me.

Just time. Maybe wet wipes when you defacate. The point is not to wipe your rectum so hard. You're getting too clean and wiping away natural lubrication.

For the last week I have had an itchy, well, anus. Inexplicable. It's clean. But itchy. I've been trying preparation H with "itch relief" though I don't think I have hemorrhoids. Is there anything else I can try at home before having to go to a doctor for this?? Thanks.
