You have no idea what goes on in her house or her life. She may be the world's greatest mom.

She probably spends about the same amount of time with her kids as you do OP. And she gets to do promote her own mental health by being relaxed and stress free, which further benefits her kids. She sounds like she has figured out a great life and she is stimulating the local economy.

That is pretty cool that is considered normal.

I bet with a nanny you can sit down and watch tv with the kids, play them more, etc. without having to compromise the cleaning and cooking.

It sounds delightful. Can you also get a cook and housekeeper?

Thanks for the laugh. What country is this, and is the other SAHM an American too?

If I had a nanny (or two) I would feel like I HAD to get out of the house. I guess that's how the various appts and shopping sprees and gym bunnying starts.

Glad to hear you're chipping in a bit extra to your $400/month, full time help OP

I really don't understand why sahms need a nanny.

Thought my DCUM ladies might enjoy this:

We're a foreign service family posted overseas. Labor is very cheap here, and it's very easy to afford full-time help ($400/month on average, I pay a little more). So I do have full-time help - she mostly does the housework and dishes and chopping but occasionally watches the kids. Other people have more "nanny intensive" help. Anyway, a SAHM with full-time help is pretty standard here.

So who do *we* gossip about? The SAHM down the street from me who has TWO nannies, plus a weekend nanny so she's never without help for her two kids. I've literally never seen her take her kids to the park. Luckily the main nanny is delightful, and anyway it's none of my damn business.

Thought you'd get a kick out of it. Back to our regular co-sleeping / babywearing / SAHM / breastfeeding debates.
