If what is true? That out of county students are going to MCPS schools? They are not breaking the law if they are paying tuition, which OP has no way of knowing. You'd be surprised how many "out of bounds" students attend MCPS on fully approved COSAs or on tuition.

Mean? Give me a break. If true the parents are breaking the law.

You guys are jumping to conclusions. Ask the principal, she knows whether they are paying out-of-state tuition, before you go report anyone. Also if they are not paying chances are that they have an apartment, not a room, and are paying taxes. No one wants their child to be put out of school for a demonstrated lack of integrity by the parents. MoCo is known for their overzealous parents so most people find out the rules and follow them.

From a former out-of-state tuition payer in MoCo.

So why don't you report them? The parents aren't paying Montgomery County taxes.

But they could very well be paying Montgomery County tuition.

Yes. The phone number of the school where the out-of-county kids are attending. There is a protocol and if your allegation is true they will be out in a few days.

just call MCPS main number and ask who you can talk to. really you needed to come to DCUM to figure this out?

I know, you could Google the information and see if it comes up. I can already see your research skills are top notch, as you have sniffed this cheating family out! Since you've put pretty much no effort in finding out how to report them, no doubt you've done a stellar job in finding out if they actually are permitted to attend their school.

Don't assume that MCPS does not do due diligence in admitting students.

If someone is out of county and is coming to school in MCPS, rest assured that their papers are in order and there is nothing that you can do to get them chucked out.

All your reporting will do is mark you as a vindictive and nosy person. Nothing more.

If I believed that somebody was not a county resident, and I wanted to report them, I would send an e-mail to the principal.

But I would first think long and hard about reporting them.

We have read threads in a similar vein on this forum.

Bottomline...you could rent a room, own a property in MoCo etc. and if you met certain MCPS requirements you will be given admission in an MCPS school. So - just being out of county does not mean that they will not be allowed here.

Is there a website or phone number to report out of county residents using MoCo schools?
