We have been members of Spiral Path, who is Organic, for a couple of years now and love it. They have a weekly pick up at the S.S. farmer's market on Saturday. We do a medium share for two adults with three young kids that don't yet eat a lot of food. This past week my box contained:

Green pepper
Yellow Pepper
Orange Pepper
A couple of Heirloom tomatoes
Red Round tomatoes
Yellow Onion
Lots of sweet corn
Lettuce
Zucchini (several of these)

They also do large shares which contain more diversity as well as more volume. They have a lot of different pricing options. You can do a share that starts in early spring and goes through November or you can do just a summer share and I even think you can do just a fall share. You can check them out at www.spiralpathfarm.com and they are also on Facebook.

I have been happy with the quantity and quality - although I do have to supplement primarily because I will buy out of season produce.

I have been getting Sandy Springs CSA, which is all organic, for almost 1 year. We get the 60% share since there are just 3 of us, and it ends up costing about 20 bucks per week, which seems to be a pretty good deal. My husband thought it was too expensive until I pointed out that he spends about that much going out to lunch 2-3 times a week.

For example, below is a list of what I got last week. I haven't done a direct comparison, but I am pretty confident you could not buy all of these items organic in a store or farmer's market for less than $20. And there's a pick up in Takoma Park. Here's the website:

sandysprings.csa.come

Today your 60% (Half) Share contains:
1 bag Bhintje Potatoes - De Glae Organics (at least 1 lb)
1 Squash - Farmdale Organics (huge spaghetti squash)
1 Italian Eggplant - Windy Hollow Organics (huge!)
1 head Radicchio - Bellview Organics (good size)
1 bag Yellow Wax Beans - Peaceful Valley Organics (about 1 lb?)
1 bag Tomatoes - White Swan Organics (2 beefsteak size)
2 heads Baby Bok Choy - Plum Hill Organics (medium sized)
1 bunch Cilantro - Noble Herbs (regular size)

Due to harvest availability you will receive 1
of these items in your share:

1 bag Jalapeno Peppers - Millwood Springs Organics
1 bag Cayenne Peppers - Millwood Springs Organics (about 7, which I will dry and save)

Tell me about your CSA box, especially if its organic. How much? Which farm? Where do they deliver? Etc.
I'm in upper NW/silver spring/Takoma area.
