I agree! And Angie's List has not been helpful for us at all. Checkbook more so, but finding that elusive handyman seems impossible here.

We've had good success with several handymen we found on Angie's List. Have you tried that? Or checkbook.org

I find it *really* hard to find handy man services in dc. Anyone have any recommendations? For things like fixing broken porch boards, minor repairs around the house....
