PP here. As I said earlier...constipation, this is a joke right?

It depends on a lot of things. My kids scream and cry at the smallest of things - if you saw them stubbing their toe you would think they need an ambulance. I get calls from new teachers who don't know them because they think there are big emergencies!

So, some kids just express themselves more than others!

In general, though, it sounds a bit like you might be finding it hard to know that your kid (and others) will not be attended to for every little ailment and concern. That's what school is all about - and it's good for the kids in the end. It's so hard to stop the parental feeling of wanting to right every wrong, but it's really not good for your kid if you take that approach. I have to remind myself of that all the time - it's going against my gut feeling, really, but I'm convinced it's true. We have to let our kids experience bad things and help them learn from it. It's late - I'm babbling now.

No not a joke. If I'm having a slow day at work and had the option I'd go pick him up, or ask my mom to or something.. I'd like to be able to comfort him at least.

Do you really think teachers have the time and responsibility to call every parent whose kid is uncomfortable? Come on now OP! Have you ever been around 3 year olds? There's always a tummy ache and someone who can't poop. Get real honey.

LOL!!! OP, lighten up. Yes, it sucks for the kid, but for all you know the parents had told the teacher at drop- off that he's constipated. Therefore she would not call them to tell them what they already know.

OP, you are way overreacting. Maybe you just need to stay at home if that's your attitude.

Good grief, people. Rushing to preschool with a suppository? That will be something for the analyst couch someday.

If a child is constipated - that is the parent's responsibility. it is a medical condition and not up to the teacher to deal with. What do you want her to do - manually disimpact him.

She is a teacher..a teacher, an educator.

You're way overboard. You're going to drop whatever you're doing and rush to daycare to shove something up your kid's ass? Your kid will not die if he can't poop for a few hours at school. There's no reason to call the parents. He's not sick. He's uncomfortable.

That sounds really crappy ( no pun intended). I'd expect them to call.

I mean, if I got a call I would bring a glycerin suppository...

Hi, I am the mom who posted before about my 3 yo in daycare and how I have reservations about one of the teachers...well, it was working out great and I thought I was wrong about her but today there was another incident.
I picked up my son after nap and I saw a boy in the bathroom who was trying to go and crying. I told the teacher and she was like- oh, he is constipated, that's why. She would not go in and do anything. She said she had no medication for him sent by parents, and kind of brushed off my suggestion to call his parents.
I just asked her to call me if she ever feels my son does not feel well.
But that makes me wonder, how much do they brush off?
