I don't know why she's being so hardheaded and not respecting the fact you don't want to go I'm sure she could easily invite another friend who would probably jump at the chance!

For whatever reason that you don't want to go...don't go if you really are opposed. Chances are high you won't be happy which will in turn make it unpleasant for her. I too am not a spa person, we went as a group to Canyon Ranch for a good friends 45th bday and I could not wait to leave. Just not something I enjoy doing. Don't force yourself is my advice. It will strain things at least temporarily but she will get over it.

You should go. She is making a very nice offer to you for a fun relaxing weekend and sister bonding time. And this is free for you? This is a no-brainer. This would only be a maybe IF you had to pay big bucks.

I personally hate spas too and am a germaphob so it would not be in the cards for me......to sit somewhere that I would be so uncomfortable for 3 days would be torture so if you are not feeling it don't go, and don't over explain yourself. You are both adults, let her pout but she must respect your decision.

I hate spas too, but I'd go if I thought it would be a nice time for me and my sister to bond. Esp if the next trip I got to pick something right up my alley! But I also wouldn't stress about just saying no if you really don't think you would enjoy yourself or you really don't want to travel then. I don't see the big deal about just telling her no. Sounds like you two have other issues going on here.

I say go and see if you really hate spas that much, maybe you havent' experienced it like that. AZ has amazing spas!! And its free....how fun!

Having a bad day? Giving you a free pass in that case. OP- If you are totally against going, dont go because you will be miserable and make her miserable. But if you think you can find it in the goodness of your heart to make your sister happy then be a sport and open up your mind..you never know you might end up having a lot of fun and enjoy yourself!

Hmm tough one. She obviously wants some company and it would suck to go alone. I'd go but I love spas. Look it up, maybe you'll like something about it. Maybe it's in a neat town where you can get out and do non spa stuff. If you really don't want to go then don't force yourself.

My sister who is totally spoiled rotten by her doting husband is mad because I will not accompany her to a 3 day spa trip next month. She was supposed to go with a friend who found out she got a job she was hoping to get and now cannot go. So she asked me to go all expenses paid (its in Arizona). The thing is this...I hate spas, don't mind it for an hour or two but three bloody days? No thanks. And I really don't do girls trips like that. Just not my thing, it would be such a chore. So I told her no and she is so used to getting her way she kept pleading with me. Her last comment was "think about it until Sat and THEN give me your reply". Nothing has changed but shes being very hardheaded. Any advice? Am I being unreasonable or is she?
