I really liked dr obrien too!

I like Dr. Browne and I've had Dr. Greenhouse do a couple sonos and one failed IUI, he is very nice too. Dr. Browne just did my transfer (currently 5dp5dt).

OP - many doctors have an area of focus so depending on your diagnosis, or lack of diagnosis that can make a difference too. Dr. Browne is very knowledgeable in high FSH and DOR.

I'm another one who had success with Dr. Chang. He's not really warm and fuzzy, but he is very approachable, is accessible and is willing to consider various options. I would definitely recommend getting digital copies of all your prior tests/diagnostics. You will want your new RE to review anyway.

I know 2 people who were successful with Dr. Chang and would probably recommend him. I saw Dr. Stillman, had many failed cycles with him, then moved to a different clinic out of state. I had bilateral hydrosalpinx with horrendous scarring that made me a unique and difficult case. No male issues. I agree with the general criticism about Shady Grove that it is all about the volume, and if you are difficult case, you are better off going elsewhere. If you are a fairly straightforward case, then they will probably be sufficient.

I didn't work with any other REs and so have no point of comparison, but we worked with Dr. Sagoskin (and is nurse, Donna) at the Rockville location and really liked him. He was pretty no-nonsense and straight-forward with us, but was very compassionate. He called personally after both of my first two transfers that failed (once while he was on vacation), and when we learned we had lost a twin at what would have been our last appointment (third transfer we did two blasts, and both implanted and had heartbeats), Dr. Sagoskin and Donna were both very sensitive and caring (I was a hysterical, sobbing mess). If we ever decide to go back for another FET, I hope they're both still there.

OP here. Thanks all. Which RE do you recommend? I am confused about whom to choose. Eventually every clinic turns out to be a marketplace where we are just numbers, but crazy mind still wants to choose an RE!

Btw.... Not sure if you are close in proximity to Sibley, but one factor to note is the Rockvile office is HUGE! I went to Sibley mostly and found it far more personable. Although in the end, you can do monitoring anywhere and different offices even during the cycle. I think one cycle I monitored at three different offices.

Which office are you going to, I can ask around for who in recommended on a SG group I am on.

+1. Depending on the RE, you may need to be insistent that you don't want to repeat these tests. I had to repeat most of mine because they were out of date, but my insurance, which covers nothing IF related, covered these as diagnostic.

The only question I can answer is about docs--you can choose which RE you want to be your primary doc.

You will have to do some tests again. Does your insurance cover fertility diagnosis testing? Best bet is to schedule a consult at SG.

I am planning to switch to Shady Grove after unsuccessful IVF cycles. I have already gone through laparoscopy and ruled out endometriosis. My tubes are blocked and DH has low motility. AMH is normal but on the lower side. Does Shady Grove require me to go through their sets of tests to see if I qualify for Shared Risk program? What sort of tests are they and do they involve out of pocket costs? I am 35.
Do I get to select the doctor or do they assign me to the next available doctor? If I can choose the doctor, whom do you recommend? I am interested in Rockville location.
