Halve and seed some jalapenos. Stuff with cream cheese. Wrap with bacon. Either bake off ahead of time in oven (400 for about 20-25 minutes) or store to grill at the tailgate. Be sure to wear gloves if you do this because seeding and handling that many jalapenos will make your hands BURN if you do not. (Learned this the hard way.)

Also, sausage balls. Three cups of Bisquick, one lb of cooked sausage, 2 cups of cheddar cheese. Mix and roll into one inch balls, bake for 15-20 minutes or so.

Texas sheet cake travels well- step up from brownies, but easy and good. I like to take cowboy caviar- great dip with sturdy tortilla chips or corn chips, but hearty and healthy enough for a side dish. Google recipes and use what sounds best to you- there are variations of both.

Any good ideas about what to pack to a tailgate? Needs to be prepped in advance and bonus points if it doesn't spoil quickly (It will be hot this weekend!). Will accompany simple grilled items--ie burgers and hot dogs. A good cookie or cake recipe that people will enjoy and travels well would also be great. Thanks!
