+1 This. My family is from the Middle East and this is how we always eat it. It is intended as a mezze item, great with a number of small dishes such as hummus, baba ghanoush, olives, falafel, or grape leaves. We also like to eat it as a side with eggs and ful (a bean dish) for breakfast. No, you can't cook with it.
