I don't like Peapod, but I love Washington Green Grocer.

They don't have paper goods and such, but the produce, meat, and dairy are outstanding.

I use PeaPod once every few months to replenish non-perishables. I don't like it for produce, and, as other posters noted, the delivery window is spotty so you need a delivery time you were hanging around the house anyhow.

All I need is delivery from Super-H now and I'm all set.

My wife and I were using PeaPod for quite sometime. She heard of a new service that has a great organic food selection comparable to Whole Foods. We have been very happy with them. They are smaller and much more customer service friendly... Johnson's Organic Food

And if you ever have a problem call them right away and they will give you a credit. My delivery was left in the wrong place this weekend...in the sun vs. on the shaded porch and my eggs were cracked. I called and they credited the price of the eggs and waived the delivery fee.

We love Peapod. Very convenient. Produce has gotten much better. We have it delivered every Friday. The delivery people are nice and efficient too. We plan on using Peapod even more during the winter months.

Peapod is great.
I love the "guess my order" feature where you click and it fills your cart with the items you order frequently.
I also love that I can click on "specials by dept" and only buy items on sale. Literally, milk is usually the only non-sale item that I order.
Deliveries have always been on time, on the early side of the delivery window. Drivers are nice, professional.
Great that I can stock up on heavy/bulky items when on sale (laundry soap, juice boxes, soup, pasta etc.). I also stock up on frozen one item veggies (a bag of flash frozen broccoli, green beans, brussel sprouts). I am never tempted to waste money or calories on take-out. Once you are on a Peapod roll, you will be stocked up and can always come up with something to put together.
If we go away for vaca. I arrange to have Peapod meet us at home right after we arrive. Life saver.
Been using Peapod for at least 5 years, totally satisfied customer.

I tried Peapod a few times, but I prefer Harris Teeter X-press lane. Maybe not as convenient as Peapod since you do have to drive over there. But I found it to work best for me. I don't like having to wait for Peapod and commit to being around for a time window. I also didn't really like having the delivery people come into my house. If you let them drop it off unattended, that works but then you have to store all those empty bins. In addition to the $8 delivery fee they also expect a tip. Harris Teeter express lane is $5 and they refuse tips. My bad experiences with getting subpar produce has been limited with Harris Teeter and Peapod. There has been one difference. When the produce is so unacceptable that they don't want to give it to me, Harris Teeter calls me to ask me what I want them to do. Peapod delivered some tomatillos to me one time that were so rotten that I couldn't use them for anything.

I have used it for nonperishable and usually choose unattended delivery because they have been late in the past.

I've been using Peapod since 2002, and clearly am a satisfied customer!

I generally buy meat and veggies at the farmers' market, but that's because of a preference for locally farmed rather than a delivery/shop at the market preference.

In more than ten years, I can count on one hand the number of times I've had a problem with a spoiled item, and it's generally been something where the packaging has failed in transit (i.e. a yogurt container breaking open), which is something that is just as likely if I was bringing the food home myself, anyway.

You should try it; if you hate it, you don't need to keep doing it!

Also, the new android app has a feature where you can take a pic of a barcode with your phone and it adds it to your list. So when you finish, say, the cream cheese, just snap the packaging before you toss it, and it will be in your next order.

I have used Peapod maybe 10 times over the past several years. The produce I received has always been great- like first choice from a recent shipment. The one thing that has driven me batty, though, is the incredible number of bags they have used for my orders. I have literally found one head of garlic, all lonely in two doubled-up plastic bags. It is common to find just one or two items per bag. I gave them feedback on that issue, and assume other people have as well. It's been more than a year now since I used the service, so maybe they've improved.

The only thing that really bothers me about Peapod is they are often late - like 15-30 minutes outside the delivery window. They call to let you know about the delay, but I have requested a refund of the delivery fee every time they are actually late. I don't see why I should have to pay an $8 delivery fee if they cannot arrive within the scheduled 2 hour window. They have given me the refund every time.

I've had the same experiences as pp. produce I usually find pretty good. Nothing exciting, but not shameful at all. Even if u can just do one huuuugggggeee pea pod order a month, and then go once a week for the rest, it makes stuff so much easier! Their app is super handy, too. When u think of something, u just add it to ur cart!!

We're trying to outsource as much as possible these days to keep our sanity with two small kids. My husband wants to try PeaPod for grocery shopping, but I'm hesitant. Can you share your experiences using PeaPod? Are the meats and vegetables they deliver of good quality? TIA!
