some PTAs are starting to name a goal amount you can write a check for and ignore the fundraisers. Our PTA said $75. Just honestly look at what you would spend in a year and base it off that (if you know their fundraisers you can find out roughly what percentage schools get - depending it might be 2-3% up to 50%, - higher if it involved events at school with donated materials) The school probably gets more from you if you just give rather than participate. Some fundraisers can help generate money from other members of the community who would be unlikely to give cash.

We received stuff for the first fundraiser of the year. Is it fine to just make a donation and send the materials back? What is the typical dollar amount that people give?
