I can eat most ice cream without issue, but some brands, such as Hagen Daz (sp?) kill my stomach.

12:49, that is what I was wondering. I eat most all ice creams and this doesn't happen.

Are you sure it's the ice cream and not some ingredient in the cookies and cream part? Do you have this trouble with all ice creams and all brands?

Yes it's possible, ice cream contains a lot of lactose. Plus some people can only digest a certain amount of lactose in a day. So if you ice cream is the last thing you eat in the day, and you've already had milk, cheese, etc. that could be why. You've already had all the lactose your body is able to take.

Have you tried taking Lactaid? Does it help? If yes, it's the lactose that's the problem. If not, it's something else.

I use Fat free milk at home. Like the PP, I also eat yogurt pretty often.

Yes. Because some foods contain more lactose than others or it is in a form that doesn't bother you. Ice cream bothers me but the small amount of milk in cereal doesn't. Yogurt doesn't as well.

What kind of milk do you use on your cereal?

I seem to have an issue with dairy fat specifically. Ice cream, cheese, cream, butter - all do terrible things to my stomach. But nonfat dairy is totally fine. Skim milk, 0% Greek yogurt - great. No tummy troubles at all.

Just a thought.

Like Cookies and Cream Ice cream?

I have had a single scoop of it for the past 3 nights and the first night I felt grumbly in my stomach and thought it was from eating pork at a barbecue (I don't eat pork often). Then Saturday night I just thought I was having weird stomach pain. Last night I had the ice cream and the same thing happened. Also without being to TMI, the grumblies lead to diarrhea. I am not lactose intolerant with other things. I usually have a bowl of cereal and milk when I am busy and have no time for dinner. So is this possible?
