Good call on Ripple. We've had a fabulous time there. Small and quiet, knowledgeable about wine.

Cork seems good on paper; haven't been there yet. Same for Vinoteca.

We liked Range, but it felt like eating in Grand Central. (Well, if Grand Central had a panoramic view of a Chevy Chase mall.)

OPNever been to Range so I would not have known that detail. Menu looked ideal though.

We were seated in the back room and it was extremely noisy -- it didn't help that we were right next to a table of 8 people. We asked to be re-seated and we were on the rim with the panoramic view of the mall and it was fine -- not quiet but not that loud either. So ask to sit with the view of the mall.

In DC looking for something we haven't tried. All we want is good wine, great cheese and chacuterie boards in a nice quiet atmosphere. I think this rules out places like Proof. We have done Sonoma and a few others around town. Any obscure recs in DC? Was looking at Juniper bc of the pretty courtyard but reviews are mixed. TIA

Rats. Right up until that part, I was going to say Proof.

That is the perfect rec, Exactly what we're looking for but they're closed on Mondays. That's the other problem we're running in to.
