My brother and SIL purchased a home right after (well about 1.5 yrs) a very prominent community man killed himself in the basement. The wife completely remodeled the basement before it went to market. They got it for about 30 percent under market. They plan on living there for at least 25 years so they dont worry about the resale. To be honest its a GREAT house but I dont think I could do it.

I'm not sure if I would or not. People do buy those houses. The amityville house has been occupied by the same tenants fot years.
