You should be able to find some Tinga Tinga tales on you tube. They are short (10-15 minute) stories along the lines of "Why the giraffe has a long neck" or "why the hyena howls at the moon." Cute little stories with nice animals.

My kids love Wild Kratts too. I don't think Zaboomafoo is on anymore but you might find You Tube clips of it. Also a lot of zoos have their own You Tube channels with great videos of animals.

My 4 and 6 year olds love Wild Kratts. When they had just turned 2 they enjoyed Baby Einstein World Animals. They had a couple of catchy tunes.

Another vote for Wild Kratts. It's a great show, and one that doesn't ignore invertebrates.

NWF's "Wild Animal Baby Explorers": http://www.amazon.com/Wild-Animal-Babies-Deluxe-Box/dp/B002O0MTUI

It's part cartoon, part live action. Similar to Wild Kratts, but more geared for the younger set.

Warning: you will go around singing "Wild Animal Babies!" at random. It's the price you pay for half an hour of sanity.

I was thinking of Zooboomafoo too --we loved that! I don' think they make it anymore but the brothers were so cute and it was a very sweet and educational show-would be ideal if you could get some episodes. Perfect for that age and not awful or annoying to watch. Love the opening song too!!!

My daughter is close to 2 years old and she hasn't watched TV yet. She's obsessed with animals and I would like to find a nature show that she can watch while I'm cooking. I would be happy to download a 30 minute show that she watches over and over again, but I haven't been able to find one that would be appropriate.

I worry about violence and I don't want her to get scared.

There is a show on animal planet called "too cute" that is mostly just puppies and kittens. That would be fine, but I was hoping for a movie/show that showed elephants or some other African animals (which she loves).

Any suggestions?
