Thanks. Yes our cells are NYC area codes so we wanted a local home phone. So... go with the 703? Even if the call id will say Fairfax and not Arlington?

This is such a hysterically funny statement to me.

DH got his cellphone back in the late 90s and has a 571 phone number even though he purchased it via the Best Buy in Arlington. It's only been in the last half dozen years that 571 has really been used for home numbers in outer burbs.

I have 202! I highly reccommend it! I don't have a conrete reason to back up this next statement but for some reason 571 is not now and has never been appealing to me and I look down on people who have a 571 area code.

So, we just got Ooma as a VOiP phone provider for a landline (moving to Falls Church tomorrow). I have to choose our number... they are giving me options of 703 571 or 202. Which Should I take? 202 will say Washington, 703 Will say Fairfax and 571 will say Falls Church.... I'm not sure that the "city" will matter so much as the area code. I plan to use this number on resumes in addition to my cell (out of state area code). I was told by some people that I am more likely to be considered for positions in DC/Arlington (where my field is based) with a 202/703.

Thoughts?
