definitely k'tan for newborn. it will give you all the same holds as a stretchy wrap but is much easier to use.
i also have a ssc (freehand) for when lo is bigger, but i still use the k'tan for hip carriers also.

I loved our Peanut sling until my DD was about 3 months. After that, I used the Moby or Baby Bjorn.

I found the K'Tan to be helpful in the first few months and we have since switch over to the Boba 3G which we love.

Agree. We got the K'Tan for the newborn/first 3-4 months and then the Baby Bjorn Miracle for DH to use first and then for me to use later. Working out great.

Strollers simply aren't practical in a lot of settings. Grocery stores, for instance, when you really need a cart. Or in places where there are stairs' or small doorways. Plus, I just love the feeling of holding the baby without "holding" the baby. And, once you really get the hang of it, you can nurse while walking around and no one has any idea you're doing it. Can't do that from a stroller!

Baby K'Tan for the newborn stage. I have slings, Moby, Baby Bjorn, etc. I think the K'Tan is easiest for putting on and off and, most importantly, doesn't start to sag after extended wearing like the Moby does. I think it's common to get two carriers - one for around the house during the newborn stage and another for out and about once the kid is a little bigger.
I'm torn between the K'tan and the Moby for reasons mentioned above - mainly that DH and I can share the Moby, but probably not the K'tan.

I didn't like the Ergo for a small baby. Also, it is very hot, so a small baby could overheat in the summer. I like the Belle baby carrier for a child up to 15 pounds.

I used a Moby for my newborn and around the house, but liked the Ergo when the baby was bigger and we were out and about. I think the insert is a little unwieldy for just around the house.

DH and I didn't find the Ergo comfortable at all. We rented a few different carriers and eventually decided on the Beco Gemini (front, side, and back carry options).

I didn't like the infant insert for the Ergo and never used mine. I've tried both the old style and the new style.
I loved my stretchy wrap and would recommend it over the K-tan. It takes a little practice but once you've got it, you can do it really fast. I practiced with one of my daughters dolls.

Subject: Baby Carrier Question
I'm thinking of getting the baby K'Tan for the newborn stage because I'd like to try to wear my baby around the house. I was thinking of then getting the ErgoBaby carrier for later when she is bigger for hiking, etc. Does this make sense or should I just get the Ergo infant insert for around the house during the newborn stage instead of the K'Tan?
