Well, that's not a good sign. They can't even stuff an envelope property. What a joke.

Am I missing something? I called the school office to ask if there would be a new student orientation or similar and the person who answered said teachers would be out front on the first day holding signs w their names... Anyone else feeling similarly in the dark?

The same thing happened to us. They have someone who is completely inept filling in this summer. The regular person in the front office is amazing.

Call the school and talk to Ms Rivera - she will help you! Our welcome letter came without a teacher assigment as well -

Thank you for all the great info... I feel much more informed now. Rechecked the package and the letter wasn't in there. At least I know I should call again and ask!

Join Principal Don Bryant at 8:00 am on Friday, August 23rd for a tour of Stoddert Elementary School. This tour is primarily for new Stoddert parents, but if you already have kids at Stoddert and want to join the tour, please feel free to come.

There is an open house.

Look at your packet again. Your teacher assignment should have been in there. The first page was a letter from Principal Bryant, the second page should have been a letter from your child's teacher. Also, in the letter from the PTA it talks about a new family event (I think on Aug 21) at the home of another Stoddert family. Granted that is not a school tour, plus the event isn't for kids, but it is a great chance to meet other Stoddert families. It's a great school and the K teaching team is strong!

You should have received your teacher assignment letter by now. Ours (for older child) came with the info packet but still awaiting supplies list. Too bad about the "meet your teacher" thing. Suggest it for next year! But don't fret too much. The teachers and new principals are very kind. Expect your child to be exhausted and starving when u pick them up those first few weeks. It's a big adjustment and it takes a lot out of them. But they'll be running ahead to hug their teacher and friends in the morning in no time!

Feeling exactly the same. I wish there would be an open house where kids could attend to get familiar with the school beforehand. It looks like the first day of school will be such open house...
