do you have more than a couple frozen embryos just in case one or two don't make it to the thawing process? if not, i would go forward with another fresh cycle at the insurance company's expense and save the frozen for later.

and what if your insurance plan don't cover ivf the following year?

I negotiated by threatening to leave to another place that offered it for less. Suddenly the price dropped. As I recall I emailed the person in charge of finance, who consulted with my RE and then came back with a lower price. They did not require documentation of my other clinic's prices.

Paperwork I got 2 weeks ago says $4600 for FET only. For the poster who negotiated, who did you negotiate with? Your RE? I think when we did our FET in 2011 it was $4000 even.

Just a tip that OOP FET costs may be negotiable. I know because I was able to negotiate mine down.

Would they submit monitoring costs to MDIPA or not? (If one doesn't want and fet to count as one of the three IVFs)?

You can call the finance person at your office and they will send you a list of procedure costs.

I paid OOP for an FET this summer at SG for the same reasons, and it was more like $4200.

Depends on the clinic! Can range from around 1,500 to 3,000 or so.

I am considering paying OOP for a FET since insurance only covers three cycles and I want to use that for fresh cycles.

Anyone know what the cost is for a FET if you don't go through insurance?

Thanks!
