I feel like she was pretending to be my friend when it was convenient and now she doesnt need me. I've also seen her do this to other friends and blame myself for thinking my case would be different.

It's disappointing when a long term friend phases out, but it sounds like you felt taken advantage of by her in the past and continue to have lingering resentments. Just let her fade away, it sounds like the friendship hasn't survived past it's original developmental period, and perhaps this is for the best.

It's life. People move away and grow apart. I have lost so many friends this way but it just gets really difficult when there is a long distance between people.

Just let the friendship die. You can't expect people to move away to a new place and not branch out and make new friends there but you don't seem too keen on keeping it going from your end either. If they call looking for connections just simply reply "I'll keep my ear to the ground and let you know if I hear of anything."
