I have a ballpark on what my sibs earn just from knowing their occupations. But, no, I can't recall specifics like that ever coming up. And no way would I ever make sweeping assumptions regarding what I thought my sibs could or could not afford or how they should (or should not) spend their money.

No, but they do know our housing allowance (military).
We just bought a house, mid range pricing for the DC metro area. I shared a link to the home when we bought and they just about died at the price.
I had to explain to them that the only reason we could afford a half million + home is because our housing allowance is X$ here in DC. Although it made more sense to them to hear this, they were just as appalled as they were when they saw how much the house cost.
They are from the Midwest and a half million dollar home there is a half million dollar home, not some 1960s-70s un renovated house.
Sigh.

I made the mistake of telling my brother how much we make. It came up because my brother was talking about giving money to our parents, and income came up.
I asked him not to mention the HHI number to his nosy bitchy wife. A few weeks later over dinner, my sister in law, the nosy wife of my brother made some snarky comment about me and DH being in the "1%"
I wish i never said anything to them. I hope this doesn't become a problem going forward. My sister in law is a competitive person and i now this knowledge of our much higher HHI than theirs must bother her. I think my brother may have these tendencies.
