Heck, yes, I'd rewash. Nasty.

I am not grossed out by very many things and I am the farthest thing from germ phobic, but this would push me over the edge. I'm not sure I'd rewash, but I definitely would have to pretend I hadn't seen it.

Gross. I'd boil the cups too before using them again. My bottles/cups never go in general dish water, I always keep them and wash them separately.

I zip and toss anything that's had raw meat in it. Those sippy cups would be in boiling water now if it was me!

Why do you wash your ziplock bags beforehand throwing them away. seems like a waste of water and effort. Why not just zip and toss?

Soap and warm water will not kill any raw chicken borne germs. Chances are the chicken isn't carrying disease and you would be fine but raw meat is pretty much not worth the risk. I would not be okay with that and I am pretty much a if it smells okay, looks okay and tastes okay, eat it!

I'm in hippie dippie San Francisco, where it's law that we compost, and we all happily do it. And I think that's really gross and not okay.

She just filled my sink with dish water and put in my DS's sippie cups, along with plastic bags that had raw chicken juices in them. Not grocery store bags, but Ziploc bags that had chicken marinating in them.

When I inquired, she said the soap and warm water would kill the chicken germs, so there was no need to worry about cross contamination.

I'm all about being green, but when it comes to raw meats, I do not re-use the plastic bags. They get a quick wash, away from other dishes, and then recycled or tossed in the trash.

Is she being careless or am I overreacting?
