If FCPS did that, then 15% of the county would score 99.7%, and the test prep industry would boom. Oh, and AAP would lose much of the truly brilliant creative kids.

Maybe.
Might be more.
In our set of 12 cousins, there are 3 of them from different parents that are in the 99.7-99.9 range.

So they are going to teach 3 students/GT Center ?
I mean I am not sure how many students are there per grade per GT Center, but would assume they would be less than 1000 ..

These scores are often being combined with scores on state achievement exams or exams such as the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS).
In addition, schools are increasing the percentile rankings required. At least one school district is requiring a student receive a score in the 99.7th percentile on the Cognitive Abilities Test which is the top .3% or 3 students out of 1,000 taking the exam."
