+1 You will still qualify for the class bonus, but too many PB hours and you will get dinged in your review and eventually asked to leave. It usually means that there isn't a partner who is really eager to give you work and you haven't become indispensable to any of them.

IME experience (which is probably out of date) it even differed from partner to partner. I used to wonder why firm pronouncements were so hard to understand and then I realized they were mostly by committee and meant different things to different people.

Looking for insight from more experienced big law attorneys. How did your firm weigh pro bono hours in your bonus? Ours counts pro bono hours as part of our billable requirement but i am wondering if they will be weighed more heavily if i actually meet my billables. So say my billables are 1900hrs but 300 of those are pro bono hours, will that count against me or will it be the same as getting 1900hrs fair and square?
